Welcome to our official blog for Brinklow Seventh-day Adventist Church‘s Young Adults Leadership Research Study, located in, Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. Our church community is dedicated to spiritual growth, service, and leadership, especially in our mission to engage young adults in meaningful roles within the church. However, like many churches today, we face a significant challenge: how do we fully integrate young adults into leadership positions and empower them to shape the future of our church?
The Problem We’re Investigating
Despite the enthusiasm and potential young adults bring, there is a gap between our desire to involve them in leadership and the actual opportunities available for them to lead. Studies show that young adults, particularly Millennials and Generation Z, often feel disconnected from church leadership. Many struggle to see a clear pathway to influence and contribute meaningfully to the church’s mission.
At Brinklow SDA Church, we recognize this challenge and are committed to addressing it head-on. This blog serves as part of an ongoing investigation into the specific barriers young adults face in taking on leadership roles. Through this platform, we aim to explore their perceptions, identify obstacles, and generate actionable solutions that can transform the way our church nurtures and supports young leaders.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a more inclusive and engaged community by bridging the gap between intention and action. We believe that young adults are not just the future of the church—they are an integral part of its present. This blog will serve as both an investigative tool and an ongoing resource to facilitate dialogue, provide insights, and encourage collaboration between young adults and church leaders.
We invite you to join us in this journey as we explore new pathways for leadership, foster a supportive environment, and ultimately strengthen our church community for generations to come.
